VENETIAN BLIND

VENETIAN BLIND

Window blinds made from horizontal slats were developed as we know them in 1794. They received the name venetian blinds because they originally came from Venice, Italy. These venetian blinds replaced or were used instead of fabric curtains or shutters. ... The Chinese would also hang bamboo to cover their windows.
Venetian blind has horizontal slats, located one above another. Venetian blinds are basic horizontal slats made of metal. So in terms of ease of operation, variety and style there is no difference between wooden or Venetian blinds. The biggest difference is the weight and stack depth on the wooden blinds. A mini blind is a type of horizontal window blind made of long, narrow slats held together by string. Its slats are less than half the width of a regular venetian blind, and are often made of aluminium, measuring 15 millimeters (0.59 in) or 25 millimeters (0.98 in). Aluminium or metal blinds are the most practical, they are your best bet for a kitchen or bathroom as they are splash proof, won't warp with moisture and you can wipe them clean.
